i never felt this before as i opened the door and got into the car with a broken heart
i didn't want you to see the sadness inside of me
and as i turned the key the way silently
as i look in the mirror
i can still see her
and she's calling out my name
nothing will be the same
i'm heading down the highway
and nothing's going my way
our distance keeps increasing
doing 90 without even trying
i'm on this lonely road and i don't know where to go and i'm feeling so long on this lonely road
i see lines on the pavement they tell me where i even
and now they're disappearing
what does this mean?
how could i have been so blind?
and never read the signs
shoud i just let it go
i really don't know somehow i missed the turn
will i learn
cause i'm going faster and heading for a disaster
one day i'll figure out what this was all about and maybe in time
it'll fade from my mind
i'm on this lonely road and i'm feeling so lonely
but if there's one thing i know
is that i can't go back home
